Privacy policy

This policy explains what data MCList processes, why it processes it, and how you can have your data removed at any time.

  1. 1. Controller

    The controller is Webenta s.r.o., company ID 57 304 157, registered at Karpatské námestie 10A, 831 06 Bratislava - Rača, Slovakia. You can reach us at kordos@webenta.sk or +421 910 413 670.

  2. 2. What we process

We collect only what the server list needs to run:

    • Account: your email address and a password stored solely as a secure hash.
    • Server listing: the name, server address, description, links, images, and anything else you put into the listing yourself.
    • Voting: the Minecraft username you enter and a technical fingerprint (hash) of your IP address, used only to enforce one vote per day. The IP address itself is never stored in the database.
    • Traffic: anonymous page statistics via Umami, which uses no cookies and builds no visitor profiles.
  3. 3. Why we process it

We use the data to display the server list, to sign you in and let you manage your listings, to count votes fairly, and to measure basic site traffic.

  4. 4. Legal basis

Accounts and server listings are processed to perform our contract with you, that is, to provide the listing service. Votes are processed on the consent you give when you submit them. Abuse prevention rests on our legitimate interest.

  5. 5. Retention

Account and listing data is kept until you delete it or ask us to remove it. Votes and their daily fingerprints are kept for 12 months for the leaderboards, then deleted.

  6. 6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data or pass it on for marketing. If a server has Votifier configured, we forward your Minecraft username and IP address to it when you vote — the protocol requires this so the server can grant your reward. The site and our Umami statistics run on our own infrastructure.

  7. 7. Cookies

We use a single strictly necessary cookie that keeps you signed in. We set no advertising or tracking cookies, and Umami analytics works entirely without them.

  8. 8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right:

    • to access your data and receive a copy of it,
    • to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected,
    • to erasure, the so-called right to be forgotten,
    • to restrict processing and to data portability,
    • to object to processing and to withdraw consent at any time,
    • to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
